What is Welding Technology

Welding Technology is the study of the various components in a vehicle (engines, braking systems, sensors, etc.) and how they function. It helps you understand how to maintain and fix a vehicle, much like how a doctor diagnoses and treats a patient
With more than half a million new registered vehicles every year, there is an increased demand for the automotive service and repair industry, since every vehicle requires servicing. The government is also keen to transform the industry, introducing the Automotive Transformation Programme (ATOM) to provide accessible soft loans for automotive workshop operators. If you’re one of those who eat-breathe-sleep cars, the automotive repair and maintenance field is definitely something you ought to look into! So put your seat belt on, as this guide will take you through everything you need to know about studying an Automotive Technology course in Malaysia.

What does a Welding Technician do?

Some Welding Technicians specialize in specific vehicle systems while others perform repairs on all kinds of vehicles. A clear understanding of how automotive engines operate is essential to success as an Automotive Technician. Here are some main items that they do:

  • An Automotive Technician repairs and maintains cars and trucks.
  • Automotive Technicians conduct diagnostic tests on vehicles and replace worn or damaged components.
  • They troubleshoot and repair a variety of engine systems to ensure that the proper repairs may be made to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Automotive Technicians carefully manage their time to ensure that repairs are made on schedule and the shop is as efficient as possible.
